Small Business Thursday: “The Buzz of Union City Cafe”
The Talk of the Town—Spring 2020
Coming to Union City in Spring of 2020 is the The Buzz of Union City Cafe, also known as “The Buzz” and “The Buzz of UC.” This coffee shop is meant to be a gathering place of everyone in the community, whether it be from afternoon coffee to small business meetings. This gathering place is meant to bring the community together over something as simple as the love of coffee.
The owners and operators of The Buzz are Greg and Kathy Bowes. They have already had quite the impact on Union City by being apart of the Borough Council and being proud members of Parks and Recreation. And through The Buzz of Union City Cafe, they plan to give even more back to the community. One way they plan on doing so is supporting local non-profits through coffee sales that have been “paid forward.” Each month they will have a list of non-profits on a bulletin board to show people where the matched donations are going. Another way in which they will help their community is by serving complementary food items such as breakfast sandwiches, paninis, soups and other baked goods. On top of their vast food selection, they will be serving espresso based drinks such as lattes, americanos, and macchiatos along with coffee, cold brew and even Nitro cold brew. But this cafe is not just for coffee lovers, they will cater to everyone by selling teas and natural energy drinks. But wait, there’s more, The Buzz becomes even better when you learn that it will also have a drive thru. I know that we are all very excited to see what The Buzz has to bring to the table come Spring of 2020.
