Out of the Grey Coffee is a local coffee company with it’s headquarters located on State Street,, here in Erie, PA. Their coffee house cafe is located in Fairview and is open from 5pm to midnight, Thursday through Saturday. Even though this is their only coffee house, there are many local coffee shops that use their freshly roasted coffee and espresso blends. All of their small batch organic coffees are roasted on site to create a freshness like no other. All of their beans are USDA Certified Organic, Fair Trade, and Rain Forest Alliance Certified. They like to make sure that their coffee has as little environmental impact as possible while also making sure the farmers are getting their fair share of the profits that comes out of their hard work. As their website says they want to make sure that the “coffee was harvested using sustainable practices that effect social, environmental, economic and ethical areas.” They have roasted coffee from Asian, African, and South American regions that allows the taster to travel around the world through one cup of coffee. Also, their decaf coffee is made by using the “Swiss Water” process. This process has no added chemical solvents and fully relies on caffeine solubility and osmosis to remove caffeine from green coffee beans.
